Wolf Totem - Chapter 16 - Journey

Happy that I am beginning my journal with Chapter 16 of Wolf Totem. Though half the story is already over, I am surprised to find almost all the crux of the story is explained in this chapter again. Glad I am.

So, this chapter is a journey within the book where Chen Zhen hops along with two leaders of the Valley Bilgi and Ulji. Wow! the things they see and stuffs Zhen learns is just amazing. Though Zhen has already became one of them amused by their cultures and skill, this trip re-assures him of the greatest voyage he has undergone.

So, three of them on their horses along with Erlong and Parr goes in search of new Valley to sustain their Cattle growth & revenue because of it.

It was இளவேனில் season:
Entire valley smells bad of decayed/dead sheep, cattle and flower.
While many hate the foul smell, Ulji, Bilji and Zhen happens to like it because it is necessary for the grasses to grow.
Shits and urine of sheep in 1 year is a huge help to grass growth.
Cows dung is cold; Horse's dung is hot;
Whereas goat's dung equals 2 years of men's effort.
Water is pure and field is green in இளவேனில்.

This time is more than usual multiplication of cattle which makes scarcity in food(grass). This will make shepherds to sell new born and earn. And in turn they wont participate in production. There is only one way which is to find a new GRAZING LAND. Hence the journey.

Jeyathradhan misbehaved with draupati when she is bathing in falls. He pulls her by her hair and forces her into the his vehicle (ther) & flee from there. Getting to know the news, Arjun throws an arrow from far away and destroys them. To punish him he is tied to Arjun's vehicle and dragged all the way to their place inside the forest.
