முள் மரம் கொல்க - Mahabharadha kadhai

Jeyathradhan misbehaved with draupati when she is bathing in falls.
He pulls her by her hair and forces her into the his vehicle (ther) & flee from there.
Getting to know the news, Arjun throws an arrow from far away and destroys them. To punish him he is tied to Arjun's vehicle and dragged all the way to their place inside the forest. When each one of the brothers Nagulan, sagadevan, Bheem wanted to kill him, Dharmar chooses to leave hi since Jeyathradhan is his thuchalai's (sister) husband.

At when Draupati speaks for first time in a long period. She tells Dharmar " thee siriyadhaaga irukumbodhe anaithu vidu; illai enraal adhu valarndhu unnaye azhikkum"

Yet Dharmar stood by his morals and releases him.

This can be compared to most of our where many of our women are silenced by men in the house for decades which is slightly shifting gears now. Though women are not allowed out compared to men , not allowed to study like men, they have their ancestral knowledge/ instincts about what could happen in future.

And Guess what happened to Dharmar for the decision he made. At the final mahabharat war, their dearest son Abhimanyu was killed by maneuvering him and betrayal by the very same Jeyathradhan.

Moral from Thirukural:

Cut down the waste thorny tree when it is budding on the soil; otherwise, it will spoil our hands to eradicate. Eradicate the enmity at its budding stage.

பயன்படாமல் முள் தைக்கும் மரத்தை முளைக்கும் இளமையாக இருக்கும்போதே அழித்துவிடுக. முதிர்ந்தால் அதனை வெட்டும்போது நம் கையைத் துன்புறுத்தும்

அதுபோல, பகைமை சிறிதாக இருக்கும்போதே அதனை அழித்துவிட வேண்டும். இல்லையென்றால் அது நம்மை அயித்துவிடும்.
